Mrs. Duke might not have captured her 1st WSOP Bracelet until 2004 but she remains one of the most powerful poker players at the cash games at The Bellagio in vegas. Annie’s long-overdue WSOP bracelet came with a win at the "cast aside game" of Omaha hi low.
While players from the "younger generation" of poker run wild after a huge win at the tournament, Annie heads home and becomes "mom" to her 4 children. Annie grew up in New Hampshire into a family of card players. If you do not believe that, watch her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who taught her how to participate in the game.
However, Annie Duke is no small change girl and has won her cut of challenging tables, which includes eliminating Howard along the way on a couple of occasions. They’re both competitors that have the skill to win the big $$$$$ and do so with a smile.
Mrs. Duke is a tough competitor at any table because she is a true poker player, but it’s a little more than just being good at the game. Annie is extremely intelligent and graduated from Columbia U where she majored in English and Psychology.
When you sit across from Annie at the table you will see Annie Duke is there to play the game and she begins "sizing" you up from the time you join the table. If you can’t wager like a Champion, then do not waste your time.
