No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer was born into in a family of 5 in which he enjoyed taking part in various card games when he was young. He found himself becoming really aggressive in these particular card games as he was competing against his dad. After graduating from secondary school, Howard made a decision to place college on hold for a little bit and moved to New York to play some formidable chess. While participating in chess, he was brought in to a poker game going on in the rear of the room. Howard’s initial 2 years were difficult as he would play extensive hours and do not win a majority of the time. He made some additional money by being an assistant for the poker players. He judged he might better his game by analyzing his life outside of poker. He made an effort to get more sleep and concentrate more on the game.

The actual advancement in his game happened when he started playing at the Mayfair Club in New York City. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon association where the best gamblers would often wager against one another. Howard was able to access several of the greatest players in chess. With their assistance, Howard would hone his cunning thinking techniques. Howard used these strategic ideas in the game of NL holdem.

Howard also assisted his sibling Annie Duke master the game of poker. Annie was a great student of poker as she would always be asking questions about how to make the correct decision. Howard Lederer told Annie to head out to Sin City and compete in the WSOP competition. Annie is one of the best women players the poker world has ever seen. He moved to Vegas in 1993 and played money games for the subsequent 10 years. When the WPT grew in popularity, he decided to play more tournaments.
