No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker contender on the globe by quite a few of the top professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before reaching turning one. His grandpa taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn anything he could about the game. Phil routinely told his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the negative comments from others destroy his ambition of becoming one of the greatest poker players on the planet.

Phil began competing seriously after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The first few years for Phil were a teaching period and winning was not a normal outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he achieved 2 final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he defeated a number of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He made a decision to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to discipline and a continuing passion for poker. Phil states that he’s picking up skills every day and is incredibly humble about his achievements. Phil admits to making mistakes every single game of poker and constantly aspires to get better.

Although Ivey has won some big tournaments, he favors winning cash games on a normal basis.
