No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer grew up in a family of five in which he liked participating in different card games at a young age. He discovered himself becoming very aggressive in these card games as he was playing his dad. After finishing Sr. High school, Howard decided to place higher education on hold for a little while and relocated to New York to participate in some serious chess. While playing chess, he was brought in to a poker game taking place in the rear of the room. Howard’s initial 2 years were tough as he would play countless hours and do not win most times. He made some extra money by being an assistant for the poker players. He theorized he could better his game by analyzing his life away from poker. He brought about an attempt to acquire more sleep and focus even more on the game.

The definite improvement in his abilities happened when he started wagering at the Mayfair Club in New York. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon association where the greatest gamblers would often play against each other. He was able to access some of the greatest players in chess. With their assistance, he would sharpen his strategic thinking abilities. Howard used these strategy concepts in the game of NL texas hold’em.

Howard also assisted his sibling Annie Duke master poker. Annie Duke was an excellent student of the game as she would always be asking questions about the right way to make the proper choice. Howard told Annie to move out to Las Vegas and compete in the WSOP competition. She is one of the greatest female players the poker arena has ever seen. He moved to Las Vegas in 1993 and participated in money games for the successive 10 years. When the WPT grew in popularity, he made the decision to play more tournaments.
