No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker competitor on the planet by most of the top-ranked professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching turning one. His grandfather introduced him to one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wished to learn whatever he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely told his parents that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the negative feedback from other people kill his ambition of being one of the best poker competitors on the planet.

Phil started playing intently after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his game at the casinos of Atlantic City. The first few years for Phil were a learning period and coming away with a win was not a normal outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made two final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the closing table he defeated a number of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Vegas. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and an immeasurable passion for poker. Phil says that he’s picking up skills every single day and is very humble about his accomplishments. Phil knows he makes errors in each game of poker and constantly aspires to get better.

Even though Ivey has come first in some big tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a normal basis.
